Greetings from Help to Help International, Nepal.
We are writing to you with a heavy heart to request your urgent support for the victims of the devastating flash floods that struck Nepal on 26 August 2026. The disaster severely affected the districts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading, causing immense human suffering and widespread destruction.
According to preliminary reports and assessments, approximately 5,000 people have been affected, lost, or remain unaccounted for, while many houses and communities have been completely destroyed. The flash floods, reportedly originating from the Himalayan glacial region, brought unimaginable devastation to remote and vulnerable communities.
The human tragedy is heartbreaking. Many children have lost their parents, and many parents have lost their beloved children. Thousands of families have lost their homes, belongings, livelihoods, and sense of security. At present, many survivors are living in extremely difficult and pitiful conditions and urgently need food, clean drinking water, shelter, clothing, medicine, and other essential supplies.
The Government of Nepal and various rescue teams are actively working to save and assist the affected people. However, due to the difficult Himalayan geography, damaged roads, and the remote location of many affected communities, reaching every victim quickly and providing sufficient assistance remains a major challenge.
At this critical moment, Help to Help International sincerely appeals to the generous people of Germany and our German friends to stand with the people of Nepal. Your support can bring hope and relief to families who have lost almost everything.
